We first shared about the story of this remodel back on October 26. A lot more transformation has taken place! As we revisit our Mid-Century Modern Remodel, it is helpful to look all the way back to the before pictures:

As you will recall from the pictures, the original space was dated and did not fit the homeowners love of clean lines and modern style. No one could have enjoyed cooking and entertaining at the same time in the old boxed in kitchen. The old wallpaper and boarder were a far cry from the mid-century look that the owner craves.

So what is Mid-century and Modern? We think we nailed it with the installation of these wood built in and cabinets. Then we added the gleam of the stainless steel appliances that speak to modern simplicity.

You will recall that the kitchen space was completely cut off from the rest of the home. The clean lines of the existing space gave way easily to the desired remodel.

You use to have to go through a tiny opening to be boxed in the small kitchen.

We do what we love to do, we took to tearing out walls to create a new flow! No longer do we have walls cutting off the enjoyment of this space.

And what a change new lighting brings! The new stylish lighting sets the tone for the mid-century style. The homeowner picked out that vintage modern piece. Where one stood melamine white cabinets, now stands beautiful woodgrained cabniets.

Looking out over the dining area, and open to the living space, the time is soon coming for everyone to gather together here. With the new traffic flow, a guest could have a cocktail on the deck while still in view of the guests in the kitchen.

Next up, is the final appliance install and final cabinetry. We soon will get to see what the homeowners have chosen as the new furnishings, and how the favorite older pieces look like in this newly imagined space. Then, all that is left to do is start living life in this simply beautiful space.
