We named this remodel, “Modern Classic”, taking into account, that the style is midway between old world traditional and the world of chrome and glass contemporary.
By choosing the simple clean lined shaker style cabinets in crisp white, we took care to incorporate lines that are less ornate than traditional design. Choosing to keep the cabniets white also accomplishes a style that is classic, timeless, and clean.
Curves combine with straight lines in a transitional style interior to deliver a look that balances both masculine and feminine attributes for a comfortable and relaxing, uncomplicated design.
A lack of ornamentation and decoration with minimal accessories keeps the focus on the simplicity and sophistication of the design. The color palettes is basically neutral and subtle and with color in art and accents.
Unlike contemporary furniture, transitional style focuses on comfort and practicality to meet the lifestyle of an active household. The use of warm toned stained wood and white painted surfaces saves the kitchen from being too cold and unliveable. The scales of furniture pieces are ample but not overwhelming. Transitional style also takes in to account maximizing the enjoyment of a
homes square footage. The more open floor plan of this remodel, allows for the family to dine, play, and cook in a cohesive space.
The wood detail of the wood counter melding with the marble also add visual interest. Texture is important, and a multitude of surfaces serves to make this space feel exciting. The selections vary from chrome to durable materials like stainless steel. Our designer successfully balanced a mix of several textures to create this gorgeous functional and updated classic space.
