This space began as a completely blank slate. The homeowners envisioned a comfy spot for overnight guests, and a fashionable place to enjoy home entertainment.
Blank space ready to be used.
When designing a basement buildout, special care is taken to maximize the available square footage. In this particular space, the homeowners need the function of a mini kitchen space to serve up snacks and drinks when enjoying a movie in their home theater.
The unique design element of rustic wood was applied to the back wall to add architectural detail. The reclaimed shiplap in weathered hickory adds warmth to a functionally modern space. It sits in nice contrast to the dark cabinets. The dark wood of the cabinets is repeated in staggered shelves in the same stain.!
Flooring is a combination of wood and carpet. The chairs come equipped with cup holders, and provide all of the function of a theater seat, but have the cozy comfort of your favorite recliner.
The ceiling tiles are fitted with a surround sound speaker system. Lighting needs are accomplished by the strategic placement of recessed lighting.
We carried the espresso dark cabinet color from the kitchen area in to the bathroom vanity.
The guestroom and bath, will accommodate all of the functional needs of guests, while allowing them their own private space to enjoy.
We will post the final decorated spaces, once complete. We envision many nights of movie viewing pleasure for our homeowners.
